Waipa Networks - $854m sale of Ultrafast Fibre Limited

Acted for Waipa Networks, one of the two selling shareholders, on the $854m sale of Ultrafast Fibre Limited to Japanese institutional investor First State Investments. Also advised WEL Energy Trust the 100% shareholder of the other seller, WEL Networks. Established in 2010 as part of the New Zealand Government's Ultra-Fast Broadband initiative, Ultrafast Fibre owns and operates the fibre network in the urban areas of Hamilton, Tauranga, Whanganui, New Plymouth, Tokoroa, Hawera, Cambridge and Te Awamutu providing access to ultra-fast broadband for more than 237,000 premises. We continue to act for Ultrafast Fibre Limited.

Bermele Plc - GBP24m acquisition of New Zealand company

Acted for Bermele Plc on the New Zealand aspects of Bermele’s acquisition for GBP24 million of New Zealand company East Imperial, a premium drinks mixer business, followed by East Imperial’s reverse listing on the London Stock Exchange. New Zealand-based East Imperial produces and markets a line of branded premium mixers that sell throughout the Asia-Pacific and the US, with sights set for the UK market.

Dicker Data Ltd - A$68m acquisition of New Zealand headquartered Exeed Group

Acted for ASX listed Dicker Data Ltd (ASX:DDR) on its acquisition for A$68 million of New Zealand headquartered Exeed Group which has revenues of NZ$380 million. The acquisition cements the group’s position as a leading player in the technology distribution business in New Zealand.
